Easter Goodies of the Lush Variety

Wednesday, 30 March 2016
Easter at my mum's is a little different to other peoples Easter. Instead of giving chocolate, which although yummy can be disappointing, we give small gifts and this year my mum allowed me to choose three Lush bath bombs for Easter; aren't I lucky!?

Lush Bag

Okay, so when I say Easter goodies I more mean that they're for Easter rather from the Easter range, because in actual fact only one is from the range. I chose Golden Egg (Easter,) Lover Lamp (Valentine's) and Rose Bombshell (Mother's Day.) But all of these smell and look amazing!

Lush Golden Egg

Firstly, the glitter on Golden Egg is no joke. It is the most stubborn, clingy and sparkly stuff you will ever find ever anywhere. To take this photo I put on latex gloves so my hands would stay as glitter free as possible. I can't wait to see how the glitter fares in the bath itself, if you see an image of me sparkling like the sun, let's make it go viral? Anyway this smells like toffee, so be careful not to mistake it for an actual Easter egg, (it might not taste as good as it smells!) and is a cross between a bath bomb and bath melt, so if you like fast fizzers this might not be Instagram worthy in your eyes. Regardless everyone needs a bit of glitter in their life, so go for it, it's perfect for this time of year.

Lush Lover Lamp

Lover Lamp has a very subtle smell but is amazing nonetheless. It has hearts on the outside as well as inside I think. If I'm honest, I sometimes prefer a gentle smell in the bath rather than something strong, especially if I've had a stressful day.

Lush Rose Bombshell Bathbomb

Now if you've read any of my latest Lush posts you will know I am a sucker for rose smelling products. I used to associate the scent with old ladies but I was so wrong. After falling in love with Turkish Delight at Christmas I've since also fallen in love with Rose Jam, and everything thing else. Now Rose Bombshell is a sweet rose smell, the same as Rose Jam, and it's colouring is gorgeous; I can't wait to see how it looks in the bath!

There are my Easter goodies, what could be better than Lush let's be fair. I honestly am loving everything from Lush at the moment but I'm not sure what to try next. Any suggestions?

Quick Lush Reviews

Saturday, 12 March 2016
It's no secret that I love Lush, just check my Instagram, it's also no secret that I struggle to walk by Lush 5 days a week without popping in and making a purchase. This is why I decided to a few mini reviews of products I've been using lately, a single product review wouldn't take up a whole post so this post is the perfect opportunity to tell you about a couple of bits!

Lush Christmas Review

These are the bits I'm going to talk through today: Fairy Dust Dusting Powder, Tooth Fairy Tooth Powder and Rose Jam Bubbleroon; quite a mix. I decided to group together some Christmassy stuff because I got a lot of Lush gifts including the Sweet Christmas giftset which both Tooth Fairy and the Rose Jam Bubbleroon were included in.

Lush Fairy Dust

I can't say I'm usually one for dusting powders. I will admit that when I was younger they were rather a novelty and when I was at my grandparents, as soon as I finished my bath I'd ask for talcum powder for no reason and then proceed to shower myself and the surrounding area. But this is different, this is a pink, sweet smelling dusting powder called Fairy Dust: what's not to love!? (Okay, maybe a little part of me thought it would be like Peter Pan and after using it I'd be able to fly but it's not quite that magical.) Anyway when I use it, it makes my skin feel so soft, and it even makes it smell nice. I have two of these, but it's definitely going to take me a while to get through both.

Rosejam Bubbleroon

I am obsessed with anything rose scented lately, which is why I'm really liking this. It smells like the Christmas shower gel Rose Jam, and I need more. I only got one bottle of Rose Jam because I thought I loved Snow Fairy more, but I was wrong. Anyway this not only had been my room fragrance for the last month or so but it has also been a good pick me up on stressful days as it is so big you can get so many uses!

Tooth Fairy Tooth Powder

Now Tooth Fairy I'm really not sure about, it's strange and I'm not sure if it's in a good way. Basically this is toothpaste in a powder form. The idea threw me a bit to begin with; how do you apply? I ended up just dabbing my toothbrush into the pot and then running it under the tap which seemed to work, but I'm not too sure how much to use. If you're a minty toothpaste advocate this isn't for you, it kind of tastes like strawberries, and the feeling in the mouth whilst brushing is kind of gritty, which is weird. It also has glitter in it but it doesn't seem to stay around for long. Luckily if you want to try this I've seen a few pots still available even though it's waaaay past Christmas, but that's up to you if you feel like going Tooth Fairy hunting!

If you liked this post I'm sure I can make it a monthly thing just let me know in the comments and I'll make sure there's a spot in my schedule for it! Other than that I hope you enjoy your week and make sure you relax with a couple of Lush baths along the way!

Soap&Glory Soaper Heroes Set

Wednesday, 17 February 2016
I love travel minis. If I'm honest I would happily have every beauty product in a miniature size because they just make life so much easier. So when my little brother got me the Soaper Heroes set at Christmas I almost jumped with joy because this contains five minis!

Firstly I love the Soap&Glory packaging, while I'm not usually a 'pink girl' I can make an exception when the products smell this good. Soaper Heroes contains five favourites: Original Pink body spray, Hand Food hand cream, The Righteous Butter body butter, Clean On Me shower gel and Flake Away body scrub.

Before this set, I'd never tried a Soap&Glory body mist, I usually forget to use one anyway but I have been using this a bit. It smells really really good and is perfect for throwing in my gym bag so I can always smell great. Hand Food hand cream has been a favourite of mine for a while but I recently had to throw my tube away because it was quite old, but I got a mini of it in this set and now I can start using it again! I have a big Clean On Me in my bathroom at the moment so I don't need to use this little one for a while but it will get used don't you worry! The Flake Away body scrub is probably, in my opinion, the best smelling Soap&Glory product I have ever tried. It's slightly fruity thanks to the peach seeds, it's also quite a gentle scrub, which I prefer, some feel like they're removing layers of skin but this just feels so nice, everyone should try this at least once. Finally in the set is The Righteous Butter, it's a thick, moisturising body butter, which I have tried before, I rarely use a body butter, I forget or don't have time but I am trying to use it.

So there is what was in the set, I'm loving Soap&Glory at the moment, what else should I try?

Lush Sweet Christmas Giftset

Saturday, 13 February 2016
Okay, it's February, I got this set on Christmas Day, but hey! Life gets in the way, dropping your phone down the toilet doesn't help, so here we are; here is a very belated Christmas gift post for you to enjoy!

Lush Sweet Christmas Giftset

There were two Lush sets on my wish list this year and I was fortunate enough to receive both but I thought I would show you just this one. We don't want a Lush overload. Or maybe we do...

Lush Booklet

I always love browsing a Lush catalogue planning my next few purchases, I've really got back into Lush if you couldn't tell already.

Lush Snow Fairy

First thing in the box is the cult classic that is Snow Fairy shower gel. I'm not lying when I say I have about seven of the 100g bottles, (not including the two I'm giving away here.) I love Snow Fairy, it's sweet, uplifting and  not overly Christmassy, which is why I stocked up. Plus, it's great as a brush cleaner!

Lush Luxury Pud Bath Bomb

This Luxury Lush Pud bath bomb, has not actually been used yet, I was debating giving it to my brother's bath bomb collection, as it's not really my smell. It's pretty, yes, but not really a me smell. It has comforting lavender which does sound nice, so I'll think about it.

Lush Magic Wand

A returning favourite from the Lush Christmas collection, Magic Wand bubble bar. This is another product with a snow fairy smell, so I was always going to be a fan. I really like the idea of these as you don't need to use it all at once, you swish it around in the water and it goes candy pink and smells of sweets!

Lush Rose Bubbleroon

I have quickly fallen in love with rose smelling products, so it's no surprise that I am loving the smell of the Rose Jam Bubbleroon. I just wish I had got more bottles of Rose Jam shower gel because I really want to use it but don't want to run out.

Lush The Comforter Shower Gel

I am a sucker for The Comforter bubble bar and so I bought the shower gel because who wouldn't want more of the blackcurranty goodness!? So I am really happy I got to add The Comforter Shower Gel to my huge collection.

Lush Tooth Fairy Tooth Powder

I'd never actually tried any of  the Lush tooth care range before, so I was happy to be able to try this. It's the Tooth Fairy Tooth Powder, and I'm not going to lie, it's weird. If you're used to minty pastes, you won't like this. It's tastes of strawberries and is a bit gritty, but it does leave my mouth feeling clean, so that's a bonus.

Lush Yog Nog Bath Bomb

This one got a little bashed up in transition so doesn't look its best. This is the Yog Nog bath bomb and I, foolishly may I add, let my brother steal and I rather regret it because it smelt really good when he had his bath! Oh well, let's hope it comes back next year!

So there is/was the contents of my Sweet Christmas gift set, the hits were definitely Snow Fairy and the Rose Jam Bubbleroon, and luckily I can get one of those to get me through the year. What were your favourites from the Lush Christmas range? Plus don't forget to enter my Snow Fairy giveaway!

Lush Boxing Day Haul

Saturday, 23 January 2016

For the first time ever, I went Boxing Day Sale Shopping! And the first place I went? Lush of course; 50% off their Christmas stuff, how could I resist!?

Lush Little Snow Fairy

There was no Snow Fairy shower gel left in my local Lush so I decided to get the Little Snow Fairy gift set as it contains a 100g bottle of Snow Fairy and Pink Fun, I love the fun way more than I expected to. (Also I picked up another of these sets for one of you, there will be a post very soon telling you how you could win!)

Lush Rose Jam

I had been eyeing up Fairy Dust for a while and got it whilst on sale, (a few days later I saw my auntie and got it in a set so now I have 2,) I'm not sure quite how to use it, so leave me a comment if you know. Then I decided that I might as well get Rose Jam as I love the smell of rose plus Snow Fairy will run out eventually.

Lush Butterbear

I had to get this little guy because he smells so good, plus half price, what's not to love. After getting these few goodies I then went back into Lush the next day, I'm addicted I know, I picked up Santa's lip scrub and also Stardust bath bomb, I was too late to get Dashing Santa, sad faces all round.

Anyway there is my Lush Boxing Day haul, send me the links to yours, I love reading them!

Lush Christmas Haul - Blogmas Day 11

Friday, 11 December 2015
What's Christmas without a little Lush purchase? Venturing into the sweet smelling store of wonder is something everyone should experience at least once in their lives. This year was no different and in I went and out I came with a bag full of goodies. (Obviously this was after the lady at the till informed me that the man at the till next to her thought there were little people running round the till messing it up!)

Christmas Lush Haul

I tried to steer away from my usual purchases like the Comforter bubble bar and go for the more Christmassy bits and bobs. Therefore I chose Snow Fairy, So White and Candy Mountain.

I purchased this the year before last because it looks pretty and also because it smells divine. Candy Mountain is just wonderful, sweet smelling, a bit like Snow Fairy. It reminds me of how I imagine all sweet shops should smell.

Now this particular bath bomb, So White, doesn't look too impressive, but what it lacks in appearance it makes up for in smell. I love apples, the smell, the fruit, so this is right up my street. This white ball of goodness is going into my bath ASAP!

Finally, it's Christmas and I couldn't leave Lush without picking up the iconic Snow Fairy shower gel. This smells like candyfloss, and who doesn't love a bit of candyfloss? This has already motivated me to wash my makeup brushes and now they smell so good it's unreal! Makes me want to do my makeup more often now.

Have you been swayed into making a Lush purchase yet? Have you got your eye on anything in particular?

The Body Shop Vineyard Peach Haul

Wednesday, 4 November 2015
The Body Shop Vineyard Peach
Isn't it great when you walk into a shop, see a limited edition collection (that you had heard nothing about) and it's on sale? I think so, and that is exactly what happened to me when I went into The Body Shop a couple of weeks ago. I had generally heard nothing whatsoever about the Vineyard Peach range, and I love the smell of peach, so when I walked in and saw this duo for £3.00 and £3.50 it had to be bought, (kindly my grandad muscled me out of the way when I tried to pay and bought them for me so thank you grandad!)
The Body Shop Vineyard Peach Shower Gel
Now I may own a billion different shower gels but this has quickly become my go to because oh my god it smells amazing! Peach is a hard smell to describe; it's sweet but not too sweet. The gel lathers up nicely and a little goes a long way so hopefully this will last me a while which will give me time to find a new peach smelling bottle of gorgeousness.
The Body Shop Vineyard Peach Body Mist
Along with the billion shower gels I also have millions of body sprays, but what's one more to add to the collection? As I proved before I can't describe peach, but this body mist is out of this world. Some sprays you can smell but they then disappear almost instantly but this I could smell for quite a while after spraying. I must admit I've been using it as a room spray too because it does smell ridiculously good!

So there is my small but much loved Body Shop haul, what are your favourite products from The Body Shop? What do I need to try next?

Another Mini Lush Haul - Awesome August

Friday, 21 August 2015
Lush Beautiful Shower Gel The Comforter Shower Cream
I'm not proud to say this is my second lot of Lush purchasing this month, and at the same time, yeah I'm proud because Lush is amazing! Some of the newest products made their way into my local Lush over the weekend and obviously I had to drop in and see what they had.

First I picked up Beautiful Shower Gel. I hadn't heard much about this shower gel but after smelling it I had to get it. I love Happy Hippy and I find that scent very similar to it, however Beautiful has a slightly more grown up air to it. It's not all fruity fragrance it also has myrhh as well as gold shimmer.

The second thing I chose, unsurprisingly, was The Comforter Shower Cream. This is the shower version of The Comforter Bubble Bar, which is probably my favourite Lush product of all time. Currently I'm undecided on the smell, which sounds strange, however the scent is more concentrated which I'm not loving at the moment but it will no doubt grow on me!

So there is my second Lush mini haul. Have you tried any of the new Lush products yet?

Lush Mini Haul - Awesome August

Lush Haul
It has been too long since I have bought anything from Lush, we're talking about a good month or two, and that simply had to be fixed. We were in town for my birthday meal at Pizza Express and just around the corner is a Lush, so I dragged my mum and (rather reluctant) boyfriend inside so I could browse and inevitably make a couple of purchases.
Lush Godmother Soap
Another trigger for my Lush visit was the horrifying discovery that they were discontinuing a couple of my favourites. I was hoping to pick up the Dorothy bubble bar but alas there were none, luckily however, they still had some of the Godmother soap left. This was one of the first Lush products I ever got, in fact I think I got it at a Lush birthday party, I managed to nab the last bit of soap they had to offer and it smells just as delicious as I remember.
Lush The Comforter Bubble Bar
Fun fact about Beth: She can't leave a Lush store without buying a Comforter bubble bar. True fact that. I don't even have many baths, (I prefer showers because they're quicker,) but there is something about this blackberry smelling bar of loveliness which makes me purchase it again, and again, and again! This does make an excellent room fragrancer, so I'll use that excuse to justify my continuous purchasing...

So there is my mini Lush haul, what have you picked up lately?

Heather & Ivory Secret Paradise Bathing Flowers

Saturday, 25 July 2015
Heather & Ivory Secret Paradise Bathing Flowers
Bathing flowers? They've never really been on my radar, I prefer showers and the occasional Lush bath, but I've never tried bathing flowers. My auntie sent me these a couple of months ago and was quite intrigued and excited to show you.
Bathing Flowers
These are the Heather & Ivory Secret Paradise Bathing Flowers, it's a bit of a mouthful I know, and these retail at £10 on ASOS. The first thing I noticed about these are how intricately made they are. They are literal works of art. The detail is astounding. Each flower is made for a thin layer of soap (I guess?) and some have multiple layers creating the gorgeous flowers you see above.
Bathing Flowers
Before opening, I  expected these to have flower smells: rose, jasmine, etc, something your grandma might use. However, that is not the case, these have such a desirable smell, one that could rival some Lush bath bombs high praise indeed! The flowers have a citrusy scent, with a hint of soap. The good thing is though that these don't feel soapy or sticky, it's only when they meet water do they show this side; out of water they look almost like felt.

Now the big question is: are these a product for me? I'm going to surprise myself here and say yes they probably are. While I am partial to the odd Lush bath bomb, these add elegance to a bath, now there is a phrase I never thought I'd say, surrounded by candles, with these floating in the bath I can imagine being in a spa, what better feeling is there?

So there are my thoughts on bath flowers. Have you ever tried them? Will you think about trying them? Or do you plan to stick with trusty old Lush bath bombs?

Christmas Lush Wishlist

Monday, 13 October 2014
Lush Christmas Wishlist
So after dropping the 'C-bomb' in Saturdays post I decided why not dive straight in with a brand Christmas wish list, I've already seen what Lush has to offer, so naturally they're my first wish list!

I have bought this before simply to make my room smell as gorgeous as it does itself. Crumbled into a bath it continues to smell good and make bubbles too. The good thing about the Lush bubble bars is you can usually get a couple of uses out of them depending on the size and this one I managed two baths out of it.

Bearing in mind I love the smell of Snow Fairy this was always going to be a winner, and it's reusable! Bonus! This is another product which I have tried before; it's fairly unique as it is reusable, so although it is slightly more expensive than the likes of Candy Mountain, you do get more uses out of it.

Snow Fairy Sparkle - Shimmer Bar - £4.95
I have previously tried Shimmy Shimmy but have yet to repurchase. So I thought why not want to try a new shimmer bar? This one again smells like Snow Fairy and apparently it leaves you with 'shimmering, soft and sweet smelling skin.'

I always love Lush soaps, I also always love a citrusy scent. So hopefully I will like this! I love how vibrantly coloured this is as well,  it would completely brighten up my bathroom for Winter.

As soon as this hits shops, I know that Christmas is approaching. This, to me, smells of Christmas sweets and it's bright pink; what more can you ask for in a shower gel?

So my first Christmas wish list is up, and now I am getting into the mood! I'm debating whether to do a Boots Christmas gift wish list? But I'm not sure, would you want to see one?
